CMS.. or Content Management Systems and blog formats are very popular on the internet today. My specialization is with Wordpress, Magento, Expression Engine, now Symphony and getsimple both based on XML. Content management systems are a solution for you and your company or staff allowing simple updating of your site by adding content..We have found that most people only can use the most basic system..however I can install more complicated systems for people who can manage them. I code using Textmate and a variety of special applications..I use the Adobe suite of applications for graphic production.I am under construction here but will get this finished soon in the mean time I have records..:) Hello go listen to a record..:)
Now featuring Ruby on Rails
I have now decided to make Ruby on Rails my main direction my new raison d'être..soon I will feature this site here packaged in Rails using a custom content management system called refinery
Why refinery?

Why? because a developer can code fast and make changes on the fly that would be much more time consuming with traditional PHP based CMS...with Refinery for example too create a new section in the admin area is a simple one line of code based on generate..to do this in wordpress would require an hour and code added to the function file and options file or you would need to create a new options file..and many more lines of code..So if I and You the customer want lighting fast web development well we have Rails!..Refinery was created by Resolve digital

The team at Resolve had been using Refinery for 5 years as a custom Rails CMS solution for their clients..Fortunately for us they released this fine CMS thru the MIT open source lic..and the rest is history as they say..it really is exactly what they say it is and more..I can say this because im new to Rails and Refinery..So having just a basic knowledge of ruby on rails and all..I had refinery up and running in well minutes..full understanding takes longer of course but well worth it..Resolve took what worked and what didn't and this is the result..a Rails based CMS that really works and works well..I will deploy soon here to show the world..my portfolio site built in Refinery..its great!..:)
Why Ruby on rails?
The bigger picture is Rails is super powerful and it will allow me to create web applications and web sites that have greater function than ever ..Standing on the shoulders of giants as they say..I can create sites that behave in the traditional Model view controller way say software is created in..The power!..OMG! Rails!.. More so Rials is very Mac friendly ..My brother Tom works at Apple and pointed me in this direction..I found the mac group out there working and using and developing on Rails to be deep wide and strong..so following along was easier than i though because they all had my system using textmate the terminal and more!...Soon I will add examples of rails site..Twitter is one you all know..more to come..I have Refinery 70%setup and ready to go so not too long..
